Penn State has a revamped offensive staff following the departure of previous OC Ricky Rahne, and it looks like another offensive assistant could be on the move.

Rahne left the program this offseason for the head coaching position at Old Dominion. To replace Rahne, James Franklin went and grabbed Kirk Ciarrocca away from P.J. Fleck and Minnesota.

On Friday, Bruce Feldman with The Athletic is reporting that passing game coordinator and WR coach Gerad Parker is now the leading candidate for the OC role at West Virginia. According to Feldman, a deal is being finalized to make Parker the OC of the Mountaineers:

Parker joined the Nittany Lions for 2019 after spending two seasons at Duke. Before that, Parker spent 2013-16 at Purdue and served as an interim head coach for six games in 2016.

On the surface, Parker’s departure could be a big loss for the Nittany Lions. Hopefully, Ciarrocca and company are able to adjust moving forward if he does leave.
