There was a 44-point swing in the AFC Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs on Sunday, providing an exciting contest in Kansas City.

The Houston Texans built a 24-0 lead in the first half before the Kansas City Chiefs launched a furious comeback, much of which was complete in the first half. Thanks to some special teams errors and bad play-calling, the Chiefs overcame the 24-point deficit by the end of the second quarter, taking a 28-24 lead into the break.

Kansas City didn’t let up in the second half, either. The Chiefs had a 41-24 advantage midway through the third quarter and cruised to a 51-31 victory to advance to the AFC Championship Game next weekend. They’ll face the Tennessee Titans.

From the second quarter through nearly the end of the third quarter, the Chiefs scored 41 unanswered points.

Patrick Mahomes finished the day with 321 yards and five touchdown passes while completing 23-of-35 attempts. He also racked up 53 rushing yards on seven carries. Travis Kelce caught 10 passes for 134 yards and three touchdowns, as well.

Defensively, Frank Clark had a big day, registering three sacks and four total tackles in the win.

This marks the second-straight season in which Kansas City has made it to the AFC Championship Game. Last year, the Chiefs were defeated by the New England Patriots.
