“Maryland is home and will always hold a special place in my heart that will never change,” Davis wrote. “I would like to thank all the coaches, academic staff, training staff and my teammates for making this journey through college so special.

“Unfortunately, I decided that a fresh start was something that was best for me and my future. I decided to leave UMD for my last year and transfer as a grad transfer.

“With that being said, for my last year I have decided to attend Wake Forest University. I wish nothing but the best for the University of Maryland football team. I know my brothers will return the program to the heights it deserves. I look forward to getting started on my new journey in pursuit of my masters degree and a great last college football season.”

In four years with the Terrapins, Davis appeared in 37 career games, including 25 through his first two years. Injuries derailed the 315-pound lineman this past season, including a knee injury that cut his 2019 campaign short after just four games.

Maryland finished the 2019 season with a 3-9 record with a 1-8 mark in B1G play. Davis was the team’s most experienced offensive lineman.
