Nebraska offensive lineman stepping away from football to focus on academics

A Nebraska offensive lineman has decided to step away from the game of football to focus on academics and pursue a lucrative career outside of sports.
The Omaha World-Herald reported on Friday that John Raridon has decided to retire from football and pursue a career as an architect. He had one year of eligibility remaining on the season, but will graduate in the spring semester.
“I am done playing football and will finish my last semester here as a student,” Raridon told the Omaha World-Herald.
Raridon is a former four-star recruit and was a second-generation Husker football player. His father, Scott Raridon, was a member of the football program from 1981-83.
In four seasons with the Huskers, Raridon was a reserve member of the offensive line. He appeared in six career games over the last three seasons, including two contests in the 2019 season.
