The date for Minnesota’s 2020 Homecoming Game has been set.

On Tuesday, Minnesota tweeted out that this season’s homecoming contest is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26 against BYU. That will be the team’s fourth home game of the season and will also mark the end of non-conference play for the Golden Gophers.

All of Minnesota’s first four games in the 2020 season will be played at TCF Bank Stadium. The Gophers will host Florida Atlantic, Tennessee Tech (FCS) and Iowa in the first three weeks of the year.

Per the release from Minnesota, it will be the program’s first non-conference homecoming since 2015. That season, the Gophers defeated Ohio 27-24.

The matchup with BYU will be the first ever between the two schools on the gridiron. The 2020 game is the first part of a home-and-home series between the Gophers and Cougars. The two teams will meet at BYU in September 2025.

Minnesota finished the 2019 season with an 11-2 record, including a victory over Auburn in the Outback Bowl.
