After a record-breaking season in 2019, New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas has hauled in a major NFL award.

Saturday, Thomas was named the NFL Offensive Player of the Year. He totaled 149 catches for the season, setting a new league record. He had 1,725 yards and nine touchdowns on the year, as well. Thomas caught eight passes for 70 yards in New Orleans’ lone playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Thomas has been perceived as the top receiver in the NFL for a few years now, and he continues to be the No. 1 target for quarterback Drew Brees. He was a huge factor in the Saints ending the year with a 13-3 record and making the playoffs.

For his career, the former Ohio State receiver has made 470 catches for 5,512 yards and 32 touchdowns.

The news of Thomas’ major award comes the same night that former Buckeye and current San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.
