Cardale Jones has scored his first XFL touchdown.
Saturday, the XFL started with its first slate of games of the year and Jones took the field under center as the quarterback for the DC Defenders, which battled the Seattle Dragons in the Week 1 game.
A trick play resulted in Jones’ first touchdown pass of his XFL career. Jones hit a wide open Khari Lee for a 39-yard strike that got the defenders across the goal line.

Not a bad start to his XFL career.
Jones famously moved from third-string quarterback to starter in 2014, after J.T. Barrett suffered a season-ending injury against Michigan at the end of the 2014 season. He then led Ohio State to wins in the B1G Championship Game over Wisconsin, the Sugar Bowl over Alabama and the College Football Playoff National Championship Game over Oregon.
Jones had bounced around the NFL before being named one of the starting quarterbacks in the XFL. His career is off to a solid beginning in DC.
