Mel Tucker has swiped a wide receivers coach from Wisconsin and is adding him to the Michigan State staff.

On Friday, Michigan State announced that Wisconsin wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator Ted Gilmore will be the tight ends coach with the Spartans. Gilmore has been with the Badgers since 2015, when Paul Chryst took over as the head coach in Madison.

Gilmore brings over 25 years of coaching experience to East Lansing. He’s a huge addition to Tucker’s staff.

Before joining Chryst’s Wisconsin staff in 2015, Gilmore spent three seasons with the NFL’s Oakland Raiders, serving as wide receivers from 2012-14. He was also on the Nebraska staff from 2005-10 and once was an assistant at Purdue from 2001-02.

Gilmore has also had stops at Wyoming, Kansas, Houston, Colorado and USC.
