Xavier Tillman has added a few extra letters to the back of his Michigan State jersey, following the birth of his son earlier this month.

On Feb. 17, Tillman’s wife Tamia gave birth to the couple’s second child and first son. The baby boy was named Xavier Tillman Jr., prompting a name change to Tillman’s jersey.

For Michigan State’s Tuesday night game against Iowa, and for the rest of the season, Tillman’s No. 23 jersey will have “Tillman Sr.” etched on the back. The MSU Twitter account shared a picture of the new uniform on Tuesday:

That has to be a really awesome feeling for Tillman.

Tillman and his wife also have a three-year-old daughter, Ayanna. Tillman and Tamia have been married since May 2019.

Tonight’s game between No. 18 Iowa and No. 24 Michigan State is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Coverage can be found on ESPN 2.
