A former star Michigan State linebacker is getting a start on his career in the coaching world.

On Wednesday, Max Bullough revealed that he’ll be heading to Tuscaloosa to join Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide for the 2020 season. Bullough will be a defensive graduate assistant, based on his Twitter bio.

Bullough played at Michigan State under Mark Dantonio from 2010-13. He was a member of two Spartan teams that won B1G titles and was a three-time All-B1G selection. In four seasons at Michigan State, Bullough totaled 299 tackles, including 31 stops for loss. He also had three interceptions and forced three fumbles.

In 2014, Bullough was an undrafted free agent but went on to spend three seasons with the Houston Texans. After being released by the Texans in 2017, he spent time with the Cleveland Browns practice squad. He finished his career with 56 tackles in the NFL.

Alabama will be the first stop for Bullough as a graduate assistant.
