Well this probably won’t help Mitchell Wilcox’s draft status.

Thursday, tight ends hit the field to take part in some on-field drills during the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. It’s a time for players to show off their skills and athleticism, and prove that they deserve to hear their name called come late April.

Of course, there are always a few unfortunate events that happen over the course of a few days at Lucas Oil Stadium. Wilcox happened to be on the receiving end of one of those forgetful moments.

Running through a pass-catching drill, Wilcox took a football right to the face. The video has gone viral:

To his credit, Wilcox shook it off and caught the next pass thrown his way. Talk about a short memory.

During the 2019 season, Wilcox caught 28 passes for 350 yards with the Bulls. In 2018, he tallied a career-high 540 yards on 43 catches. He finished that season with two touchdown grabs.

Wilcox is a solid tight end prospect for the NFL, but he certainly won’t live this moment down.
