Insensitive graphic on Twitter leaves Mississippi State head coach Mike Leach apologetic

Mike Leach may have crossed a line with his social media presence this week. The new Mississippi State head coach used an insensitive graphic on Twitter in an attempt to provide some humor to the world, but it stirred up a little trouble.
Leach, who is known to speak his mind and is relatively blunt in his responses to questions, tends to be one of the most well-liked coaches in college football. He’s caught plenty of grief over the last few days, though.
Earlier this week, Leach sent out a tweet that contained the image of an elderly woman knitting a noose with the caption: “After 2 weeks of quarantine with her husband, Gertrude decided to knit him a scarf…”
That tweet received plenty of backlash on Twitter, including some unpleasant responses from a handful of Mississippi State football players. On Thursday, Leach issued an apology.
“I sincerely regret if my choice of images in my tweets were found offensive,” Leach wrote on Twitter after receiving heat for the image. “I had no intention of offending anyone.”

Leach has shared humorous photos, videos and quotes via Twitter for quite some time now, but this time, the head coach appears to have crossed the line.
