Purdue is offering a promotion that could kill two birds with one stone.

The team announced that it will have a field-goal contest at halftime of the spring game on April 16. Fans have to have purchased season tickets by April 10 to be eligible.

If a fan can make a kick from 50 yards, it will earn free season tickets for the 2016 season.

Here are the guidelines for the contest:

As you can see, it is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Only the first 30 to RSVP are eligible to attempt a kick, and only the ticket account holder will get to attempt a kick.

Not only could this promotion boost spring game attendance, but it could also allow Purdue to hold an unofficial walk-on tryout.

As you’ll recall, the Boilermakers only made five field goals in 2015, none of which were longer than 40 yards. That kicker, Paul Griggs, was also a senior.

If a fan can knock down a 50-yarder, it might have a more valuable prize than free season tickets in store.
