Michigan State’s 2021 recruiting class just landed one of the top two players from the state of Michigan.
Wednesday, four-star guard and Detroit native Pierre Brooks committed to Michigan State over 15 other schools. He is the first player in the 2021 recruiting class to commit to the Spartans.
Brooks made his announcement by sharing a video on Twitter. He’s ranked as the No. 2 player from the state of Michigan, according to 247Sports.

Brooks, a 6-foot-5, 180-pound shooting guard, is ranked as the No. 96 player in the 2021 cycle. He also ranks as the 21st-best shooting guard in the class. He picked Michigan State over offers from Arizona State, Butler, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas State, Michigan, Missouri, Northwestern and Xavier, among others.
This is another nice addition to Tom Izzo’s future rosters. In 2020, the Spartans received commitments from two four-star players — center Mady Sissoko and point guard AJ Hoggard.
