Former Ohio State star Chris Spielman hits lofty fundraising goal for COVID-19 relief

Ohio State legend Chris Spielman wanted to raise a lot of money for COVID-19 relief, and it didn’t take him long to meet his fundraising goal.
Friday morning, Spielman tweeted out that he has reached his goal set at $40,000 for COVID-19 relief. It took the former Buckeye less than a month to hit that mark.
“Big News,” Spielman wrote on Twitter. “Reached our goal of raising 40K for Covid relief! Thank you to those who purchased memorabilia off eBay auction. Your generosity is amazing. A huge thank you to Finland Middle School Head Coach Matt Smith for all of your efforts.”

Spielman auctioned off several memorabilia items in order to hit the lofty $40,000 goal. Among those items were his 1984 B1G Championship ring ($12,000), and 1986 B1G Championship ring ($6,200). He also sold game-worn jerseys, an All-Madden leather jacket, a game-worn helmet and his 1994 Pro Bowl watch.
What an awesome way for Spielman to help his community, state and the rest of country.
