Former Rutgers, Ohio State OL Jonah Jackson selected with 75th pick

Jonah Jackson has turned a successful career at Rutgers and Ohio State into a third-round selection in this year’s NFL Draft.
Jackson was the sixth Buckeye taken off the board in 2020, getting selected by the Detroit Lions with the No. 75 pick. He was the second player from Ohio State to get picked on the second day of the draft, along with J.K. Dobbins (second round) and Davon Hamilton (third round).
Before spending his one season at Ohio State, Jackson was a prominent starter at Rutgers. In 2018, Jackson was an All-B1G honorable mention and would’ve been the top-returning offensive lineman for the Scarlet Knights in 2019. However, he decided to graduate transfer to Ohio State to play his final season.
That decision paid off.
Jackson became a staple on Ohio State’s offensive line in the first year under Ryan Day. He helped pave the way for Dobbins, who rushed for over 2,000 yards and blocked for Heisman Trophy finalist quarterback Justin Fields. With Jackson’s assistance up front, the Buckeyes finished 13-1 and claimed a third-straight B1G title.
Heading into the NFL, Jackson brings plenty of starting experience to Detroit, where he’ll try to carve out a role along the Lions’ front line.
