2020 NFL Draft: Three cities in Ohio ranked in the Top 5 markets for viewership through all 7 rounds

The state of Ohio was glued to the television this past weekend during the 2020 NFL Draft.

ESPN’s public relations department shared a list of the top 10 markets for all seven rounds during this year’s draft and three of the top-five cities came from the state of Ohio. Columbus, the home of the Buckeyes, was the No. 1 market this year, with Cleveland immediately behind at the No. 2 spot. Cincinnati was No. 5.

Cities in Ohio had plenty of reasons to watch this year’s draft. Ohio native, former Buckeye and LSU quarterback Joe Burrow was selected with the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft, and he’ll be returning to his home state to play for the Cincinnati Bengals. Ohio State’s Chase Young and Jeff Okudah went No. 2 and No. 3 in the first round, as well.

Damon Arnette was the third Buckeye selected on Day 1, going No. 19.

Ohio State produced 10 draft picks this year, with seven of those players being selected in the first three rounds. Three former Buckeyes were picked in the final four rounds on Saturday.

Those three cities in Ohio outperformed major markets like Atlanta, Nashville, Denver and Baltimore. The two non-Ohio cities to crack the top five were Philadelphia (No. 3) and Kansas City (No. 4).
