From ESPN:

As fans re-live the showdown between the No. 3 Wolverines and No. 2 Buckeyes, additional musings from Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, and Desmond Howard will be interspersed throughout the presentation. Fowler and Herbstreit called the game, along with Sam Ponder and Tom Rinaldi, while Howard was in attendance with College Gameday Built by The Home Depot.

Ohio State overcame a 17-7 deficit in the third quarter to tie the game at 17-17 all at the end of the fourth quarter, forcing overtime. After a controversial call in the second overtime in which Buckeyes quarterback J.T. Barrett was given a first down on a spot that was incredibly close to the first-down marker, Curtis Samuel scored on a 15-yard run to lift OSU to a 30-27 win.

That victory kept Michigan from winning the B1G East and prevented the Wolverines from playing in the B1G Championship Game and the College Football Playoff. While the Buckeyes also missed out on a chance to play for a conference title (Penn State advanced by owning the head-to-head victory over OSU), they did compete in the College Football Playoff.

The spot in “The Game” is still considered one of the more controversial moments of the rivalry series.
