The month of April is coming to an end but Michigan State’s staff isn’t quite done on the recruiting front for the month. On Thursday, the Spartans raked in another commitment, giving them ten pledges for the 2021 class.

Florida defensive back Charles Brantley gave his verbal pledge to MSU on Thursday. He picked the Spartans over offers from 23 other programs, including Indiana, Rutgers, Maryland, Boston College, Florida State, Louisville, Virginia, Washington State and Pitt, among others.

Brantley is listed as a 6-foot, 160-pound cornerback who ranks as one of the top 600 prospects in the 2021 recruiting class. He’s the No. 76 player out of Florida and the No. 41 corner in the cycle.

“This took me a lot of time to think over and finally I came to a decision,” Brantley wrote in a note on Twitter. “I want to thank the Michigan State University recruiting staff for giving me this opportunity. With this being said I will be announcing my commitment to Michigan State University.”

Along with being a lockdown defender at the high school level, Brantley also participates in track and field. He will bring excellent speed and athleticism to East Lansing for the 2021 season.

Michigan State is now up to 10 pledges in the 2021 class, all of which have committed in April. The Spartans are now up to No. 20 in the national recruiting rankings and are ninth in the B1G.
