Minnesota’s top ten recruiting class continues to grow.

Wednesday, the Golden Gophers received a verbal commitment from three-star Georgia safety Darius Green. He became the 15th member of Minnesota’s 2021 class and made the announcement on Twitter.

“I have the best support system from my family, coaches, and teammates. Thank all the schools that have recruited me through this process,” Green wrote in a message on Twitter. “But I have made my decision…University of Minnesota. I’m done with recruiting.”

Green is a 6-foot, 190-pound safety out of Covington, Georgia who has received a dozen offers on the recruiting front. In addition to Minnesota, he received interest from Indiana, Maryland, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Wake Forest and a handful of other programs.

Per 247Sports, Green ranks as one of the top 50 safeties and top 50 players out of the state of Georgia. He does not currently have a national overall ranking in the composite.

With Green’s commitment, Minnesota’s 2021 class ranks ninth nationally and third in the B1G.
