The 2020 Jimmy V Classic will feature Rutgers and three other teams, according to a report from Stadium’s Jeff Goodman.

Thursday, Goodman reported that Rutgers is expected to play Baylor in the 2020 Jimmy V. Classic in December. The other matchup is Gonzaga vs. Tennessee.

Rutgers has only participated in the event once, losing an 85-65 contest to Florida State in 1999. The event has been played since 1995 with it beginning at Meadowlands Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey before switching to Madison Square Garden in New York in 2003.

Indiana was the B1G’s representative in the vent last year, defeating UConn 57-54.

Last season, Rutgers enjoyed a tremendous turnaround under Greg Pikiell. The Scarlet Knights improved from a 14-17 record in the 2018-19 season to a 20-11 mark this past season. Rutgers was essentially a lock for the NCAA Tournament had it not been canceled.
