When decision makers say that everything is on the table regarding the 2020 college football season, they really mean it.
According to a report from Stadium’s Brett McMurphy, some schools have already reached out to others about the potential of having a home-and-home series during the 2020 season. The preliminary conversations have been started to account for some schools in a state or conference being given the green light to start sports again, while others might be on hold.
Those schools and conferences were not named in McMurphy’s tweet.
Some conference schools already are having preliminary discussions w/their other conference members about possible home/home series this year, in case all of their league members can’t play, sources told @Stadium

It would be an interesting concept in college football. Imagine Ohio State and Michigan having a home-and-home series, with one game in Ann Arbor and the other in Columbus. Or maybe Purdue and Indiana having a two-game series, if the state is allowed to resume sports while others are still waiting.
Plenty of contingency plans have been discussed over the last two months. Playing in empty stadiums, conference-only schedules, delaying the start of the season or moving football to the fall have all been discussed. This is just another idea thrown into the mix.
