Report: Texas football staff to return to campus next week

The University of Texas football staff might be taking the biggest step in assuring the 2020 season takes place this fall.
Thursday morning, Anwar Richardson of Rivals.com reported that the Texas football staff is planning to return to campus beginning Monday. There will be less than 30 individuals allowed on campus, but are planning to be in their offices on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Social distancing will be encouraged and wearing masks will be emphasized while on campus, according to the report. Texas would be the first major college football program to take this step since the COVID-19 pandemic forced students, faculty, staff and others off of college campuses two months ago.
The Texas Longhorn football staff will return to campus on Monday (less than 30), according to my sources. They will be in the office on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. However, players will resume virtual meetings on Wednesday. Social distancing and masks will be emphasized.

The start of the 2020 college football season is still in flux as school presidents, athletic directors and conference commissioners work on contingency plans for the fall. However, seeing that staffs are allowed to return to campus is a step in the right direction, and it could lead to seeing more football coaches and staffs get back into the campus setting in the coming weeks.
Per Richardson’s report, student-athletes will still not be permitted on campus. They will continue to meet with coaches virtually for the coming days and weeks.
