Ex-Michigan punter announces transfer to Arkansas

A former Michigan punter has decided to continue his career in the SEC.
Over the weekend, former Michigan punter George Caratan announced his commitment to Arkansas. He has made the decision to leave the B1G for the SEC after spending two seasons in Ann Arbor. He did not see any game action in 2018 or 2019.

“Ready to get to work,” Caratan wrote on Twitter on Sunday.
Caratan was a walk-on with the Wolverines over the last two years. Though he will not be a graduate transfer, he will be expected to have immediate eligibility with the Razorbacks because he is a non-scholarship transfer. Caratan will have three years of eligibility remaining.
As a high school recruit, Caratan received interest from Army, Penn State, UMass and others before deciding to commit to Michigan.
Arkansas is under new leadership heading into the 2020 season, with Sam Pittman being named the next head coach of the program. He’s attempting to improve a program that finished 2-10 each of the last two seasons and has won just eight games in the last three years.
