Former four-star cornerback and Oregon commit Luke Hill has been arrested and faces eight criminal charges including attempted murder, according to a report.

247Sports reported on Wednesday that Hill was arrested on Tuesday and is facing charges of first-degree murder, first-degree assault, having a loaded handgun, possessing a handgun, possessing a firearm as a minor, use of an assault weapon and felonious firearm use and reckless endangerment. His preliminary court hearing is scheduled for June 19.

Hill was arrested and booked in Prince George County Jail in Maryland. He is a native of Baltimore.

Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal released a statement recently saying that Hill “was informed earlier this spring that he would not be a member of our program.”

Hill signed with Oregon as a member of the 2020 recruiting class. He was rated a four-star prospect by 247Sports’ Composite Rankings and was inside the top 200 overall prospects in the cycle.
