Believe it or not, Ohio State’s 2021 class has gotten even better.

On Sunday, the Buckeyes received a verbal pledge from four-star athlete Denzel Burke out of Scottsdale, Arizona. He’s the 19th member of Ohio State’s 2021 class, which still ranks No. 1 nationally. Burke made his announcement with a post on Twitter.

“I am grateful to all the schools that recruited and believed in me,” Burke wrote on Twitter. “I am extremely excited and blessed to announced that I will be continuing my education and football career at The Ohio State University!!”

Per 247Sports, Burke is ranked as the No. 7 athlete in this year’s cycle and is No. 183 overall. He’s the 14th player with a four- or five-star ranking to join the Buckeyes’ class.

Burke has a 6-foot, 189-pound frame and will likely play in Ohio State’s secondary, which has been known to produce NFL draft picks. He could also potentially work his way into a wideout role, as his athleticism and versatility should allow him the flexibility to fit where Ryan Day and the staff needs him.

Burke received nearly two dozen offers on the recruiting front, but ultimately settled on Ohio State over the likes of Washington, Arizona, Arizona State and Auburn.
