One of the cool things about the upcoming college football season is seeing the new poster designs that schools at all levels produce. The creativity we see from programs every summer continues to get better and better.
The University of Maine may have just released the greatest football poster of all-time, though. And it’s not even the one the school will be using for the 2020 season.
Last week, Maine revealed its poster choice for the 2020 season. It’s a pretty cool design, to give it proper credit:

However, the school revealed what the runner-up poster design looked like. It would’ve been the better choice.
Last week we released the final version of our 2020 schedule poster. However, it was a close vote for this year's poster design so we thought it was important to share the runner-up version…#BlackBearNation | #ChampionshipMentality | #CAAFB pic.twitter.com/SG4FjhtTqO

Who wouldn’t have picked up that poster? It features 6-foot-3, 340-pound offensive lineman Liam Dobson diving with the football in hand. He’s been a key part of the offensive line for the Black Bears over the last two years, making 26 starts.
Unfortunately, that poster didn’t get enough love and Maine will be distributing the first poster shown in the story.
