Report: Notre Dame-Navy game moving from Ireland

The Week 0 game between Notre Dame and Navy will not be held in Ireland after all. Instead, the two teams will plan to square off inside the country in a few months.
Brett McMurphy of Stadium reported that the game will not be held in Aviva Stadium in Dublin this year. The contest had been scheduled for Aug. 29 and would’ve been one of the first games of the college football season. Instead, the two teams are planning to meet in Annapolis, Maryland and play at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

The date of the game is also potentially being moved to Labor Day weekend.
It will mark the first time the two teams have played at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium, though they have played 91 times in the all-time series. Notre Dame owns a commanding 77-13-1 advantage and has won eight of the last nine meetings, including the last three.
Notre Dame and Navy last played in Dublin, Ireland on Sept. 1, 2012. The Fighting Irish defeated the Midshipmen 50-10.
