Joel Klatt says Ohio State RB Trey Sermon will have biggest impact among transfer players

With more players entering the NCAA transfer portal and finding new destinations to complete their college careers, there’s an increased likelihood that at least a handful of student-athletes will have a huge impact at their next destination.
When it comes to the latest group of players who have entered their name in the portal and have found new destinations, FOX Sports analyst Joel Klatt believes that one of the biggest impact transfers could be at Ohio State…again.
Quarterback Justin Fields made an incredible impact with the Buckeyes a season ago. With the sophomore under center, Ohio State finished 13-1, won a B1G championship and competed in the College Football Playoff. This year, Klatt believes former Oklahoma running back Trey Sermon could be the best addition from the portal in the sport.
“When I look at teams like with with championship aspirations, you know, Ohio State clearly is one of those,” Klatt said on Big Noon Kickoff: The Offseason. “Replacing a guy like JK Dobbins is a huge task, right? And so, yes, they’ve got Master Teague and he’s a really good player. And I think he probably would have started at most places in the Big Ten outside of Wisconsin last year. But they also get Trey Sermon guys.
“Trey Sermon now, a transfer from Oklahoma, this is a really good player. And now all of a sudden, you’ve got a two-headed running back monster with Justin Fields. Watch out for a guy like Trey sermon, who could have a huge impact transferring to Ohio State and propel them to continue to be this potential best offense in the country like they’ve been the last few years.”
Sermon racked up over 2,000 rushing yards and nearly 400 receiving yards and 25 total touchdowns in three seasons at Oklahoma. He joins another explosive offense at Columbus, where he should fit in perfectly.
Despite suffering an injury last season, Ohio State expects Sermon to be healthy for the 2020 season.
