Ohio State QB commit responds to recent comments from Michigan pledge

The rivalry between Ohio State and Michigan never takes a break. And this week, the hatred trickled down to the high school level, as a Michigan pledge and Ohio State commit traded jabs.
Three-star offensive lineman and Michigan pledge Tristan Bounds didn’t mince words in an interview with The Wolverine Podcast. He made it clear that his goals in Ann Arbor would be to win every game, claim national titles and beat Ohio State.
“After I take a couple days to take it in and realize what I really just did, and that’s commit to one of the best universities in the country, as well as a football powerhouse, I’m definitely going to get on the recruiting trail hard,” Bounds said, per Eleven Warriors. “I’ve been pretty adamant about this. I don’t want to lose any games. I want to win national championships. I want to kick the shit out of Ohio State. Those are my goals. The best class that we can get is going to help us do that.”
Ohio State quarterback commit Kyle McCord couldn’t let that slide. He had a short message to Bounds after catching wind of that statement.
“Should not have said that,” McCord wrote on Twitter. He received plenty of praise from the Buckeye faithful.

McCord is a five-star quarterback in the 2021 recruiting class, ranked as the No. 3 pro-style passer in the class. Overall, he’s listed as the 26th-best player of the cycle. He’s a member of Ohio State’s top-ranked recruiting class.
Both Bounds and McCord are still a year away from joining their respective programs. But the rivalry between the two is already heating up.
