Nebraska’s basketball roster took an unexpected hit this week, as former Wisconsin guard Kobe King has decided that he will not attend the school. The news was reported by Jeff Borzello of ESPN.

King, who entered his name in the transfer portal in January, committed to Nebraska in February. He will not join the Huskers for personal reasons, according to the report.

King appeared in 53 games for the Badgers, making nine starts during his career. This past season, he was Wisconsin’s second-leading scorer, averaging 10.0 points per game in 19 appearances. The Badgers claimed a share of the B1G title.

It’s unclear if King has another destination in mind. He will have two years of eligibility remaining at the college level, but would need an immediate eligibility waiver from the NCAA to avoid sitting out the 2020-21 season.
