A former Iowa Western defensive back will be crossing state borders and continuing his college football career at Nebraska.

Monday, Darius Moore announced via Twitter that he will be heading to Lincoln to join the Huskers. He will be a walk-on with the program after spending the last two seasons at Iowa Western, a junior college squad.

Last season at Iowa Western, Moore played in 12 games and was credited with 41 tackles, including one for loss. He also forced two fumbles and broke up a pass, according to statistics on GoReivers.com. As a freshman during the 2018 season, Moore made just five tackles in five games.

Moore has two seasons of eligibility remaining at the college level and will have three years in which to use them. He will have a redshirt year available if necessary.

Nebraska is coming off a 5-7 season in 2019, one win shy of bowl eligibility. In Scott Frost’s first two years at the helm, the Huskers have posted a 9-15 record. They are scheduled currently to open the 2020 season at home against Purdue on Sept. 5.

Moore is a native of Tiffin, Iowa.
