Michigan State reports additional positive COVID-19 tests

Michigan State has announced that two additional student-athletes have tested positive for COVID-19. That brings the school’s total to five as the university opens the doors for players to return to campus to participate in voluntary workouts.
According to the report released from Michigan State on Thursday, the school conducted another 114 tests on June 22.
Student-athletes who have provided two negative test results are permitted to participate in voluntary workouts. Michigan State is allowing just a small number of student-athletes to work together during this time.
The two individuals who tested positive for the virus will be quarantined for 10-14 days. There will also be daily check-ins with athletic training staff. Further testing and follow-ups will also take place before those individuals will be permitted to resume voluntary workouts.
Michigan State also reported that no staff members tested positive for the virus during Monday’s testing.
