Indiana received some great news on the recruiting trail on Friday afternoon, receiving a verbal pledge from a Florida defensive back who had received over 30 offers.

The Hoosiers received a commitment from three-star safety Aubrey Burks on Friday, who became the 10th player in the 2021 recruiting class to pledge to IU. He had also been considering Georgia Tech, USF, Louisville and Pitt, among others.

Burks posted his announcement on Twitter.

According to 247Sports, the 6-foot, 180-pound Burks is ranked as the No. 56 safety in the 2021 class. He’s also listed as the No. 102 player out of the state of Florida.

Last season at Auburndale High Schol, Burks collected 63 stops, 17 tackles for loss, six sacks and two fumble recoveries. He was a second-team All-County selection by The Ledger after producing a solid season on the field.

Indiana’s 2021 class now ranks 57th nationally and 11th in the B1G.
