Former Penn State defensive back CJ Holmes has found a new home. And he’ll actually be returning to Happy Valley in a few months with his new squad.

On Monday night, Holmes tweeted out that he will be transferring to Kent State to finish his college career. The Golden Flashes will travel to Beaver Stadium to play the Nittany Lions for the season opener on Saturday, Sept. 5.

Holmes started his career at Notre Dame before transferring to Penn State, where he was a walk-on. He appeared in eight games for the Fighting Irish in 2017 before opting to leave.

Due to NCAA transfer rules, Holmes was forced to sit out during the 2018 season. He then appeared in eight games during the 2019 campaign with the Nittany Lions.

Holmes decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal earlier this month. He will have two years of eligibility remaining at Kent State.
