The second year of the Scott Frost era may not have ended exactly the way Nebraska would’ve liked on the field, but the team finished strong in the classroom.

On Friday morning, Nebraska football’s official Twitter account shared the team’s spring semester grade point average (GPA), as well as the team’s cumulative GPA. According to the tweet, it’s a school record.

Nebraska’s spring semester GPA was a 3.297 while the cumulative team GPA was a 3.149. That’s a pretty strong way to end the academic year.

That’s certainly something to be proud of in Lincoln. Considering all that has occurred during the spring semester, having the team complete the academic year with such a high average was no easy task.

Nebraska’s student-athletes have returned to campus to begin voluntary team workouts. The Huskers are hoping to build off a 5-7 season from 2019 and reach bowl eligibility for the first time in the Frost era.

Currently, the Huskers are scheduled to open the season on Saturday, Sept. 5 against Purdue.
