Somehow, Ohio State’s 2021 recruiting class continues to get even stronger. The Buckeyes received another major boost on Sunday, when four-star cornerback Jordan Hancock officially announced his decision.
Hancock, the No. 77 overall prospect in the 2021 recruiting class, committed to Ohio State on Sunday. He became the 19th player in the cycle to commit to Ryan Day and company, and is the 12th prospect ranked inside the top 100 in the Bucks’ most recent class.
The Suwanee, Georgia native made his announcement with a post on Twitter. He committed to Ohio State after receiving offers from 45 total programs on the recruiting front.
“1000% committed,” Hancock wrote on Twitter. “I am a Buckeye for life.”

Hancock is listed as a 6-foot-1, 170-pound defensive back. He ranks as the No. 6 cornerback of the 2021 cycle and the No. 9 player out of the state of Georgia, according to 247Sports. He’s also on the All-American Bowl roster.
From 247Sports’ Charles Power:
Has a pure cover corner skill set with the ability to flip his hip and change direction quickly. Shows high-level ball skills as he locates and tracks the ball downfield. Closes quickly in defending the quick game. Instinctive and versatile with the ability to play multiple spots within the secondary. Doesn’t shy away from contact and looks to b a willing tackler.
Ohio State’s 2021 class already ranked atop the national rankings, and Hancock’s commitment creates even more separation between the Buckeyes and the rest of the field. Of the 19 verbal pledges, 16 have a 4- or 5-star rating.
