No final decision has been made for the upcoming B1G football season, but the conference may be on the path to attempting a push towards spring games.

On Saturday, David Jesse of the Detroit Free Press reported that commissioner Kevin Warren prefers a spring football schedule opposed to playing in the fall. The news comes on the same day that Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports reported that B1G presidents are scheduled to meet on Saturday regarding fall sports.

According to the report, the sources involved were told that the B1G commissioner was in favor of moving football to the spring. No decisions have been made, but earlier on Saturday, the MAC announced that it was postponing fall sports to spring, including football.

It was the first FBS conference to make that call.

The postponement comes as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with spikes hitting different regions of the country. While schools and athletic departments have proper protocols in place, some are still experiencing outbreaks and seeing positive cases.

Recently, B1G teams opened fall camp and a revised, conference-only schedule has been released.
