Scott Frost says Nebraska ‘prepared to look for other options’ if B1G cancels football season

Scott Frost is swinging an awfully big bat on Monday. During his meeting with reporters, the Nebraska head coach made it clear that he, his players and the administration are ready to play a football season this fall.
If the B1G backs out and cancels the season, he says, the school might just look at other options.
“We want to play no matter who it is or where it is,” Frost said, according to Sam McKewon of the Omaha World-Herald. “I think we’re prepared to look for other options.”
Frost is asked whether or not Nebraska would pursue games outside Big Ten structure.

If the B1G closes down fall sports operations and Nebraska votes in favor of playing football, the school could potentially look to join other leagues on a one-year basis. Obviously it’s not ideal, but the Huskers are willing to make that move if necessary.
“I think our university is committed to playing football any way that we possibly can regardless of what anyone else does,” Frost said
While reports first indicated on Monday that the B1G was cancelling its season, a conference spokesperson said a decision has not yet been made. Presidents of the B1G schools will meet on Monday and are expected to vote on fall sports.
Frost reiterated that he “wants to play a B1G schedule,” but if that’s not the case, the Huskers will start making some phone calls.
