The B1G has already made the call on football this fall, deciding to cancel the 2020 season and hope to get a spring season created. But during his Wednesday press conference, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day doesn’t seem like he’s ready to throw in the towel just yet on a fall season.
Day, who said on ESPN on Monday that Ohio State would explore options to play football in the fall, said that he and athletic director Gene Smith are still evaluating the possibility of playing games in the fall.
“Gene and I talked at length about this,” Day said. “We’re still exploring all those options. This thing is moving and changing. We are looking at everything.”

Day said there has been no communication with or from the B1G regarding Ohio State wanting to still play games this fall.
It is interesting, as Nebraska has made similar statements regarding an attempt to play football this fall. The Nebraska athletic department stated it was disappointed in the B1G’s decision to cancel, not delay, the start of the college football season.
When asked if Nebraska could join another league for a year, B1G commissioner Kevin Warren said “not and be a member of the B1G,” in a story for Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports.
There wasn’t much detail provided further, but don’t shut the door on fall football in Columbus just yet.
