Purdue has announced that there are no active COVID-19 cases within its athletic department. The department released a statement following the latest round of testing.

Gold and Black Illustrated’s Tom Dienhart reported on Friday morning that Purdue has conducted its latest round of COVID-19 screenings. Those tested includes student-athletes, coaches and staff.

As of Aug. 21, Purdue has administered 1,245 tests with 37 positive cases. There are currently no active cases. It has also been reported that no hospitalizations have been required at this time.

No specific breakdowns have been provided by Purdue.

Purdue University is one of several campuses in the B1G planning to permit on-campus learning with face-to-face classes for the fall semester.

The latest results from Purdue come a few days after B1G commissioner Kevin Warren confirmed there will be no fall sports in the conference this semester. The league is hoping to postpone until the spring.
