In front of a national audience on Saturday night, Liam Clifford shined. The Penn State commit had an impressive performance in the season opener for St. Xavier over the weekend, even though his team fell short against Brownsburg.

Clifford finished the night with 9 catches for 125 yards. That total included an impressive 36-yard reception early in the first quarter, in which the future Nittany Lion was able to create separation from the defender and create some early momentum for St. Xavier.

Despite his efforts, St. Xavier fell short to Brownsburg, dropping the contest 30-24 in overtime.

Clifford, the younger brother of Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford, is a 3-star member of the Nittany Lions’ 2021 recruiting class. The Cincinnati native is ranked as the No. 24 player out of Ohio and the No. 44 athlete in the cycle.

Penn State currently has 13 players committed in the 2021 class. The Lions sit No. 32 nationally and No. 8 in the B1G.
