Maybe Joshua Kaindoh was just throwing everybody off the trail.
A couple of weeks ago, he released a final four. It included Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Penn State. There was no mention of Maryland, who was the presumed favorite before the announcement.
Apparently Kaindoh had a change of heart.
The five-star defensive end announced that he’s coming to Maryland in 2017.

It’s a major announcement for D.J. Durkin, who landed the top-rated weak side defensive end in the 2017 class. The No. 22 player overall is a Mount Carmel native and is teammates at IMG Academy with fellow Maryland recruit Cam Spence.
Kaindoh is the Terps’ highest-rated recruit since Stefon Diggs and he’s the fourth-highest rated Maryland recruit of all time.
The 6-6, 256-pound defensive end is the fourth four-star recruit or above with DMV ties to commit to Maryland. That’s already more than they had in the entire 2016 class.
Even though Kaindoh is technically a Florida prospect, his fence around the DMV appears to be taking shape just as he planned.
