Former Maryland QB wins starting job at Western Kentucky

Tyrrell Pigrome’s decision to transfer from Maryland has resulted in a starting job at Western Kentucky.
The former Maryland quarterback will be the Week 1 starter for Western Kentucky, which is scheduled to open the 2020 campaign against Louisville on Saturday, Sept. 12. Red Towel Radio reported the news on Wednesday.
The 2020 season will mark Pigrome’s final year of eligibility at the college level. Despite playing a significant amount for the Terrapins over the last four years, the quarterback opted to transfer for his last season.

Over the course of four seasons at Maryland, Pigrome made an appearance in 34 contests, throwing for 1,777 yards and 9 touchdowns while completing 56.7 percent of his passes. He also accounted for 630 yards and 8 touchdowns on the ground, as well.
Josh Jackson was named the starter at Maryland to begin the season in 2019. However, due to an injuries throughout the season to Jackson, Pigrome was still a major contributor to the Terps offense.
Pigrome brings dual-threat capabilities to the Western Kentucky offense. The Hilltoppers are hoping to build off their success from a season ago, finishing the year with a 9-4 record.
