Penn State’s 2022 recruiting class received another boost on Tuesday.

The Nittany Lions received a verbal pledge from 4-star defensive end Ken Talley, a native of Philadelphia. Talley became the third in-state recruit to commit to Penn State in 2022 class, and the six player overall.

Talley made the announcement with a post on Twitter.

According to 247Sports, Talley ranks as the No. 11 weak-side defensive end in the 2022 class, and is the No. 7 prospect out of Pennsylvania. Overall, the Philadelphia native is listed as the No. 165 player, earning him a 4-star rating.

Talley is a 6-foot-3, 230-pound defensive end who attends Northeast High School. During the 2019 season, he totaled 43 tackles, 5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. He received two dozen offers on the recruiting front.

From 247Sports’ recruiting analyst Brian Dohn:

Frame to be edge rusher as outside linebacker or defensive end. Carries 220 pounds like 205. Lines up mostly as defensive end. Plays low at snap and uncoils to show tremendous burst. Bends at knees and dips shoulders to get around edge. Cat-quick in short space. Chases plays down from behind. Good body control with change of direction.

Penn State’s 2022 recruiting class ranks No. 3 in the nation and second in the B1G. The Nittany Lions are behind LSU and Ohio State in the rankings.
