B1G players react to Power 5 teams starting their seasons on Saturday (and they’re not happy)

Power 5 football is underway this weekend, as teams from the ACC and Big 12 are kicking off their 2020 seasons. The SEC will get things going in two weeks, while the B1G and Pac-12 are left on the sidelines…at least for now.

Right now, players from the B1G are forced to watch football on their televisions, rather than being able to hit the field. And they’re certainly not all that excited about having to stay sidelined while other leagues are playing.

A handful of players from across the conference have spoken up about the issue, taking to Twitter on Saturday afternoon. It’s still hard to believe that the B1G isn’t playing football this fall, while other leagues have found a way to make it work.

Yeah, they’re frustrated to say the least.

There still remains a chance that the B1G could reverse its decision and attempt to play sometime this fall. There are meetings with the medical subcommittee and Return to Competition Task Force in which new information will be presented in an attempt to sway presidents and chancellors to reverse their decision.

If Saturday’s Zoom conference goes well, presidents and chancellors may vote again as early as Sunday.
