Former Penn State defensive lineman Brandon Taylor has reportedly entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal. Sean Fitz of 247Sports reported the news on Wednesday afternoon.

Taylor had been removed from the team’s roster earlier this month and was not expected to play at Penn State in 2020. He enrolled at the school during the summer.

“Brandon Taylor is no longer a member of the Penn State football team due to a violation of team rules,” the school said in a statement in early September. “We appreciate Brandon’s contributions to the program and wish him success in the future.”

Taylor is a native of Lima, Ohio and was a 3-star member of Penn State’s 2020 recruiting class. He held offers from Cincinnati, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Oklahoma and others.

Per 247Sports Composite Rankings, Taylor ranked as the No. 26 strong-side defensive end and the No. 16 prospect out of Ohio.
