Good news hit the B1G last week, when the conference announced it had reversed its decision on postponing the fall football season and was reinstating a conference schedule. Now, it’s on teams to prove they can progress safely enough to have a season.

Iowa appears to be in good shape in the department following  a recent report.

On Monday, the school’s athletic department released a statement in relation to the recent COVID-19 testing numbers. Of the 743 tests that were administered the week of Sept. 14-20, there were only seven positive results.

According to Chad Leistikow of the Des Moines Register, there were no positive tests from within the football program. That’s obviously good news for the Hawkeyes, as well as the B1G.

The 2020 B1G season is scheduled to start the weekend of Oct. 23-24. Each team will play an eight-game season and all 14 squads will participate in Champions Week on Dec. 19 to close out the year.
