It turns out that the groin injury that Washington defensive end Chase Young sustained in last week’s game against the Cleveland Browns may be slightly more serious than previously thought.
Wednesday, NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reported that Young sustained a “moderate groin strain” on Sunday and will likely miss this week’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. It was reported earlier in the week that the injury was not expected to be serious.
Young is listed as week-to-week for the time being.

Sunday, Young left Washington’s game against Cleveland early because of the injury. He did not return to the contest. The Browns defeated the Football Team 34-20.
Young, who was the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, has collected 2.5 sacks and forced a fumble through the first three games of his rookie season. Washington is 1-2 on the year.
