Ohio State’s football program reports handful of minor NCAA violations

The Ohio State football program reported a handful of minor NCAA violations that occurred during the 2019-20 academic year, according to a report from the Columbus Dispatch.
Per the Dispatch, Ohio State committed four minor NCAA violations. There were all submitted to the NCAA and have been resolved.
According to the Columbus Dispatch, the violations included:
- Impermissible contact with recruits after two assistant coaches (unnamed) and a support staff member (unnamed) sent text messages to prospects after a 2019 win over Florida Atlantic.
- Excessive preseason expenses given to a player who was later asked to repay the $221 to charity.
- Multiple unnamed recruits were permitted to park on a surface lot near the Woody Hayes Athletic Center during an official visit during Ohio State’s win over Cincinnati in 2019.
- A player joined the team without his eligibility paperwork being processed.
No major consequences were mentioned in the report from the Columbus Dispatch.
Ohio State is coming off a 13-1 season in 2019, winning a third-straight B1G title. The Buckeyes are set to open the 2020 season at home against Nebraska on Oct. 24.
